From the start, we’ve been part of the community.

Since 1980 Timberhill Athletic Club has provided members and guests with a supportive family atmosphere to exercise all of your fitness options and to pursue a more healthy, active lifestyle. Our mission is to provide a community of health, fitness, and fun for members of all ages.  We offer equipment and programs for athletes of all ages and abilities.

Shannon Brown has been teaching swimming lessons and water fitness classes for over 25 years. She has been the Aquatics Director for TAC for 15 of those years. Shannon Grew up in Corvallis and is an OSU graduate. She enjoys snow skiing, camping, gardening, photography, and of course anything to do with the water.

Raised in Albany, Oregon. Attended OSU and Humboldt State in Northern California then returned to the valley to begin his career. The dream of owning an athletic club started in 1973 after owning and operating a small exercise facility in downtown Corvallis, and came to fruition with the opening of Timberhill Athletic Club in 1980. Married, and has three grown children.

Shirley Shaw has been Timberhill Athletic Club’s Business Office Director since 1986. She has a BA in Psychology/Biology from Biola University and an MS in Counseling from Cal State Univ Fullerton. She also has 14 years experience in the field of education with classroom teaching junior high and high school science and business, cheer coaching and being a high school counselor. Shirley enjoys running and downhill skiing.

Mike has been in the health and fitness field for more than 35 years.
Mike was the original fitness director for TAC, and helped create the model for adult fitness programming that we have today. He also managed the HP corvallis health promotion program for TAC for 14 years. TAC’s health promotion program model received acclaimed nationally as one of the best in worksite wellness. Today, with local colleagues and professional collaborations, Mike is helping area worksites, churches, and the community with creative, innovative thinking in helping employees, seniors, and the community achieve health.

Murray has been with Timberhill Athletic Club since 1982, moving from Racquetball Pro to Membership Coordinator. In addition to sales, Murray instructs racquetball and squash. He also does racquet repair for both activities. Murray’s hobbies include golf, blues concerts and watching hockey.

RobRob Durbin

Rob has been Timberhill’s Racquetball Club Pro and Court Director and Coacth for the Junior Instructional Program since 1986 with three National Junior Champions. He also was Timberhill’s Athletic Director from 1986 to 2001. He has a BS degree in secondary education (mathematics) with a minor in PE. Rob has been a Sponsored Ektelon player since 1983 and is an Oregon Racquetball Association (ORA) board member and National Collegiate Racquetball Council board member. In 1985, Rob was National Men’s A singles runner-up and from 1985-1990 was #2 ranked Men’s Open Singles in Oregon. He was also 2007-08 ORA tour Men’s 45+ Open singles & doubles champion, 3-time National Collegiate Coach of the Year, and 8-time National Collegiate Racquetball Champions at Oregon State University. He is married with two children and has been a resident of Corvallis since 1985.

Bea Espinola-Crampton has been making magic in Timberhill Athletic Club’s Playroom since 1991. Bea has always wanted to work with children and is very conscientious to the needs of members and their children and prides herself in the hiring of the staff, and the cleanliness of the Playroom. Bea grew up in Eastern Oregon, married her high school sweetheart, Bryan, and has lived in Corvallis since 1989. They have five children ranging in age from 6 to 28, and one grandchild. In her off time, she enjoys spending time with her family, including watching their sporting/school events, attending Beaver games, sewing, knitting, and photography.

Sarah Price is the Group Exercise Director for Timberhill Athletic Club. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Special Education for children with moderate to severe disabilities. Sarah is a certified Primary Group Exercise Instructor through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), in addition to maintaining certifications in Spinning®, MOSSA, High Intensity Interval Training, and SilverSneakers®. Sarah is married to Jeff Price and they have 2 children, Gavin and Makenzie.

Fitness Director at Timberhill. A.C.E. certified, Personal Trainer for 17 years with 25 years experience in the fitness field. Steve specializes in cardiac, shoulder, back and neck rehab. He is excellent with athletic performance and plyometrics and event training for marathons, mountain climbing, triathlons, and cycling. He offers an annual ski conditioning class in the fall. Steve enjoys skiing, biking, backpacking, golf, raising his two kids, and Starbucks.

Shane Denning is Athletic Director at Timberhilland has been an employee for over 18 years.  He is Timberhill’s Pickleball Club Pro, Basketball League Director, and is the creator of our annual Kid’s Timberhill Basketball Academy.  He has a great passion for basketball especially when it comes to teaching children, which shows in his basketball skills clinics, summer day camps, and one-on-one coaching year round.  Shane holds at least 2 Pickleball tournaments each year including the USAPA sanctioned Spring Fling and Winter Blast which draw in players from all around the northwest. Shane met his wife, Kris, one of our yoga/Pilates instructors, at Timberhill and they have two lovely daughters.
