Timberhill Athletic Club
Our mission is to provide a community of health, fitness, and fun for members of all ages.
Contact Murray Slayer, 757-8559, with any questions you may have or to make an appointment for a tour of our facility.
Before signing up at a health club, call ahead and make an appointment to tour the facility. Visit the club during the hours that you plan to use it, and take the time to decide if you feel comfortable in the facility.  757-8559

At TAC, you can expect our membership staff to be available to give you a tour to meet your schedule. Whether you're a "morning person" or looking for an "after work" workout, come for a look at the time that is most convenient for you.
Use the following guidelines to determine if the club will be able to meet your fitness, social, and safety needs:
---Are staff members friendly and helpful? TAC staff enjoy working with members and matching the programs and services that suit your needs.
---Is the club clean and well maintained? "Friendliness" and "Cleanliness" is our motto. Our club is comfortable, clean, and safe. Come in and see if you agree.
---Do fitness staff members have appropriate educational backgrounds and/or certification from nationally recognized certifying agencies? All TAC Fitness staff are fully trained to work with members' specific health needs. Some staff hold a college degree in a health related field and all are certified through the American Council on Exercise. All staff are CPR trained.
---Are new members provided with a club orientation and instruction on how to use equipment? All TAC members are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the one-on-one session for new members. This session is included in membership dues and follow-up sessions are available at no cost.
---Does the club have the cardiovascular resistance equipment you want and need to achieve your fitness goals? Does the club offer sufficient number and variety of programs for you to achieve your fitness goals (aerobic, racquet, sports, basketball, etc.)? The variety of equipment and programs at TAC will keep you motivated and moving towards your long term health goals. Check out your options on the Fitness Department pages.
---Does the club offer a sufficient number and variety of programs for you to achieve other goals (stress management, weight management, social activities, etc.)? From mind/body classes like Tai Chi and Yoga to the Balanced Nutrition program, our programs are designed to help you achieve total wellness in your life. The calendar of events and members only sections provide you with a glimpse of what's happening at the club and the group exercise class schedule will give you dozens of classes to choose from. ALL group exercise classes on our regular schedule are included with your monthly dues.
---Are there long lines at the equipment or crowded aerobics classes at the time that you would be using the club? The heaviest use time at the club is the prime time after work hour, from 5:30-6:30 PM. Members choose from over 60 pieces of cardiovascular equipment and a limited number of machines are available with reservation for a specific thirty-minute time slot. There are no classes that are at their "limit" for participation. Most classes are open to all members and registration is not required.
---Is there child care available if you need it? The Kids' Playroom at TAC offers a fun, safe, supervised environment for kids up to age 8.
---Is there adequate parking available if you need it? Parking lots are available at the front and rear entrances and covered bike parking is available as well.

What should I know before I sign the membership agreement? When you choose to become a member of a club, you can expect to sign an agreement, indicating the terms of membership as well as payment procedures and club policies.
1. Examine the agreement carefully. Make sure all verbal agreements are spelled out in writing. TAC provides you with a copy of the rules agreement to take home for review after your tour of the club or as a copy if you join on the day you take a tour.
2. Understand the length of the term. TAC offers an "open-ended" membership. Once you pay your membership joining fee, your membership will continue as long as you wish to continue. To cancel your TAC membership, simply contact our Business Office with written instructions stating you plan to cancel your membership. Dues will be canceled at the end of the month in which your written notice is received.
3. There is a standard policy to offer a "cooling off" period. TAC offers a 30 day money back guarantee on the membership joining fee. Try the club risk free for one month! If you feel that your membership is not right for you, notify us in writing within the initial thirty days and we will refund the membership joining fee (the first months dues are not eligible for a refund.)
4. Ask if the club will "own" your contract, or if they will sell it to a third party. TAC maintains our own membership and billing process. You have the ability to shift your membership from a single to couple or family and vice versa as members of your family have other activities that interfere with club use. All members are encouraged to enroll for the electronic funds transfer option for monthly dues. If you need to make a change to your billing, simply call our office at 757-8559 and we'll take care of the details!
5. Check with the Better Business Bureau to see if complaints have been filed against the club. TAC is a locally owned business and has been a member of the Corvallis business community for over twenty years. TAC is a member in good standing of the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce and an active supporter of the OSU sports programs, Corvallis schools sports programs, and the American Heart Association, International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) and FitLife, an association of clubs in the Northwest region.
