Aquatic Class Descriptions
Group exercise classes are free.  All classes are on going, join anytime.

Aqua Fitness
Strength. Endurance. Range of motion. For many people, these are the basics of functional health.  Aqua Fitness shallow water classes are held in the shallow lanes of the large pool or in the warm pool. Shallow water means classes have some impact on your joints and bones, which makes this a good choice for people who are concerned with osteoporosis. Hand buoys are used to increase upper body resistance. The class sequence includes warm-up, aerobic phase, and a cool down, as well as specific body part isolation. The warm pool class is also a good choice for people with arthritis. The class is self-paced, making it appropriate for any fitness level.
Hydro Fit
Runners do it. Pregnant women do it. In fact, just about anyone can do it!
Hydro-Fit is a deep water, non-impact, high energy class in the big pool at TAC. Flotation cuffs around your ankles (or float belts around your waist) keep you buoyant and increase your lower body resistance. Hand buoys and water gloves are provided for upper body resistance and help to isolate abdominal (stomach) muscles. The class sequence includes warm-up, aerobic phase, abdominal element, and a stretch and cool down. This class is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels. First time participants are encouraged to come to class a few minutes early to be shown how to use the equipment.

Tri-Aqua
Water yoga? Not quite, but close. TAC's Tri-Aqua is a slow moving class incorporating elements of Pilates, Kick Boxing, Tai Chi, and Yoga.  It is a full body and mind workout. The class brings awareness to the breath and balance, while moving through postures, strength moves and range of motion moves in the water. This class is appropriate for all ages and fitness abilities.

Water Walking
Think slow, deliberate motion.
This non-aerobic class in the warm pool is a perfect starting point for new water class participants or for those recovering from injury or other therapeutic conditions. The class sequence includes stretching and resistance training using the weight of the water in combination with hand buoys. This class is ideally suited for beginner fitness levels or those who may have physical limitations. The water walking class is a close knit group who loves to welcome new participants.

Adult Swim Instruction/Masters Swim
Don't be intimidated, everyone is welcome!  This is a class for all levels of swimmers from the Tri-Athlete to the casual lap swimmer.  The coach will lead you through a workout designed to fit your needs.  It is a great opportunity to meet some people with your same interest in swimming, get some help with a stroke, or learn how to add variety to your own swim workout.
Kids Swim Workout
One-Two-Three-Jump! This supervised lap swimming class, offered to kids 8-14 years old, is a blast! Kids have fun while improving their stroke, breathing, and endurance.
Participants must be able to swim at least one lap, using any stroke, in the big pool. KSW is not a swim team. It is a group of kids who like to swim for the fun, and the health of it. There is no registration or fee for this class. Students may drop in at any time to enjoy a supervised swim workout.

Family Swim
In the warm pool, on Friday (5:00 pm - 8:00 pm), Saturday (9:00 am - 1:00 pm) and Sunday (11:00 am - 4:00 pm), families with kids are invited to enjoy recreational pool time together. The pool is supervised by TAC staff and direct parental supervision is required.
Children in diapers must wear a club approved swim diaper. A maximum of two non-swimmes per adult.
There is no additional charge for Family Swim. (Regular guest fees apply for children over 8 or spouse/partner if you do not have a family membership.)

Swim Lessons
Small class size and teachers with at least 3 years experience make these classes a cut above the rest!  Our goal is to teach that swimming is fun, while instilling a respect for the water. TAC offers both group and private swim lessons year round.

Group Lessons are offered monthly and usually meet for four weeks. Group lesson options are Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 3-6 pm. Each thirty-minute class has a maximum of four children in each class.
Private lessons for children and adults are available at a variety of times to meet your schedule.  Registration for group or private lessons is ongoing.  Contact
AnnaMarie Ulrich for more information.

Water Babies
This class is offered to children ages 6 months to 3 years, and their parents.  We sing songs and play games to teach the basics of water adjustment, safety, and swimming techniques
